Cleaning Agents for Hygiene and Medical Applications

In the preparation of instruments in hospitals and general practices, persistent contaminants need to be removed using ultrasound and an Elma instrument cleaning agent.

Special acidic instrument detergents will remove even oxidation and silicate formations.

Elma Clean 10

This universal detergent is suitable for thorough ultrasonic cleaning of medical instruments made from stainless steel.*

Elma Clean 10 removes blood, saliva, proteins and bone residues as well as grease, oil, grinding and polishing pastes.

*Elma Clean 10 is not suitable for instruments made of aluminium, zinc or light metal alloys or plastics that are sensitive to stress cracking, such as ABS and PC.

Elma Clean 55d

Elma Clean 55d is a concentrate for disinfectant cleaning* in immersion baths with or without ultrasound. It is used to clean both general and surgical medical instruments and endoscopes made from stainless steel, steel, carbide (incl. diamond-studded models), plastic or ceramic.**

The EC 55d cleaning concentrate targets blood, proteins, saliva as well as tissue and bones residues.

*EC 55d fulfils the VAH(2001)/RKI guidelines. EC Certificate: 004804MR2, notified body: 0297.
**EC 55d is not suitable for use with aluminium or light alloys.

Elma Clean 60

Elma Clean 60 is suitable for acid-based cleaning of medical laboratory instruments and tools made from stainless steel, glass or plastic.* In conjunction with ultrasound it reliably removes contaminations even in hard-to-reach places, such as corners, edges or joints. Rusted instruments should first be pre-cleaned separately with Elma Clean 60.**

Elma Clean 60 thoroughly removes brown/grey deposits left by disinfectants and cleaning agents after autoclaving, tarnished areas or autoclaved blood spots. We recommend to thoroughly clean medical instruments with an acid-based product approximately every 6 months.

*Always test the compatibility of Elma Clean 60 with light metals before use.
**Caution: Using different types of metal in the same cleaning bath carries the risk of tarnishing!
