Elma is German world market leader
Now listed in the encyclopaedia DEUTSCHE STANDARDS 2010, published by Florian Langenscheidt and Bernd Tenor. The German Secretary of State in the Ministry of Economy and Technology, Rainer Brüderle, says that the 800 companies presented in the Encyclopaedia of the German world market leaders are “Hidden Champions” and that it is mainly thanks to them that the recent economic crisis has not only been survived, but that in fact the economic growth in Germany has been increased. It is exactly those market leading companies that create jobs and excel through inventiveness, market orientation and highly qualified employees, he says and underlines that they are both heart and motor of the German economy.

New managing director at ELMA
Singen / Htw. The family-run business ELMA Hans Schmidbauer GmbH & Co.KG, manufacturer of ultrasonic cleaning units and cleaning lines situated in the south of Germany, has nominated Dr. Hans-Jürgen Mundinger (55) as managing director. The graduate physicist joined ELMA on 1 November and is responsible for the company’s operative divisions. He will cooperate with managing partner Manfred H. Schmidbauer to control and manage the business in the future.
After his studies and following a research stay of several years in the USA, Dr. Hans-Jürgen Mundinger was successfully operating in various managing positions of medium-sized technology businesses on an international level. He was manager of a surface technology company in the Lake Constance area for five years, and his last position was managing director of the Goldschmidt-Thermit group. Dr. Mundinger is a native of the Lake Constance area, he is married and has four children.
Since its foundation in 1948, ELMA has specialised in the field of industrial fine cleaning. With more than 200 employees, the company is one of the leading businesses in ultrasonic technology. The strongly export-oriented company has only recently been awarded the innovation prize 2009 of the „Top Initiative“ by the Federal Ministry of Economics.
"TOP-Innovationspreis" 2009 awarded to Elma
Each year the TOP Initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Technology awards a prize for innovative strength to the best German company.
This year, the "TOP-Innovationspreis"goes to the Elma Hans Schmidbauer GmbH & Co. KG based in Singen. It was awarded by the Parliamentary State Secretary Ernst Burgbacher in Berlin on Tuesday, 10 November.

Twice each year since 2003, Elma has been host to the TOP Initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Technology with the issue "Productivity leaps through efficient production systems". Companies from all over Germany come together in Singen to exchange information on new technologies and strategies.
The interest in these meetings and in the innovative strength presented and realized by Elma on the basis of the “elma-produktionssystem” is as strong as ever.
The excellent ratings and enthusiastic references from the participants in these meetings are why Elma was granted this award.
The responsibility for developing and establishing the “elma-produktionssystem” in the company lies with Mr. Daniel Sauter, Manager of the Logistic and Production Department, and Dr. Andreas Klinkenberg, member of the Managing Board in the engineering division, who could proudly accept the award in Berlin last Tuesday.
